Guohua Picture Stones

Guohua picture stones are not painted pictures, they are completely natural stone but somehow pictures appear in the rock, and look like ancient Chinese art. 

Of course each one is different, but they are all beautiful pictures. Only found in Guangxi province the rock is an ancient, very fine-grained limestone with rich iron oxide content with patterns naturally formed by manganese dendrites.  

They tell us the rock was formed over a million years ago, and crafted and polished by local skilled artisans to bring out the ancient natural art and then mounted on rosewood bases.
